EVERY STORY, EVEN OF A TOP SCIENTIST,

NEEDS COMMUNICATION

(media relations, social media)

Even a successful company needs to properly communicate its achievements. Cooperation with one of Slovakia’s most successful stories of recent years started in 2019, when the team around Paľo Čekan, in addition to popularizing their own research, opened a discussion about the general need for R&D support in our country.

WHAT WERE THE EXPECTATIONS?

Science and research is a key area for future generations. Despite this, it is significantly more difficult to gain space in the media than other topics of economic and social life. Our task was to popularize a leading biotechnological company that was starting at that time and thus gain space for a discussion about the need for state support of scientific teams.

WHAT WAS DONE?

The very story of the founder of MultiplexDX Paľo Čekan, a top scientist and opera singer, who returned to Slovakia from the USA to start his own research and development of multiplex oncology diagnostics, was an excellent start for working with the media. And when this was followed by the first ever success of MultiplexDX for Slovakia in the prestigious European grant scheme EIC Accelerator in 2019, we had a communication win. The subsequent story of the development of several Slovak RT-PCR and LAMP tests for the diagnosis of the COVID-19 virus is already widely known, not only thanks to media outlets, but also to social networks.

HOW DID WE DO?

Thanks to its results in R&D, MultiplexDX belongs to the most famous „export“ articles of Slovak science and research. Even in the media space and within social networks, it already belongs to the matadors of R&D, so to speak. In 2022 alone, communication in the media reached over 400 outputs. On social networks, together with the founder Pavol Čekan, we also managed to handle the aggressive communication of hoax spreaders during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic. On the contrary, it was through Facebook that we helped fight hoaxes and motivate people to behave responsibly and trust science and scientific knowledge.
