CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE

SO IS SCIENCE AND RESEARCH

(media relations, social media)

How to get children to science better than with experiments and the opportunity to try out what it’s like to be a scientist? The non-profit think tank Slovak Organization for Research and Development Activities (SOVVA) has been performing this task for more than 16 years. With attendance exceeding the level of 160,000 visitors in five cities in record years, it is the science popularization event of the year.

WHAT WERE THE EXPECTATIONS?

Popularize, popularize and popularize again. The last Friday in September has gone down as a day that belongs to both young and adult science fans. Our task is to ensure that the invitation and raffles of the current year are not lost in the overabundance of information, in five regions throughout Slovakia. Not only the media, but also social networks play an irreplaceable role in this.

WHAT WAS DONE?

Since science is not a bed of roses in Slovakia, the communication of the event focuses on unpaid outputs in the media. It is important to choose media and formats with optimal impact on target groups. In addition to press releases announcing highlights in individual cities, communication focuses on social networks. They are today the primary source of information for the young generation.

HOW DID WE DO?

The results of the cooperation are mainly the result of the amazing SOVVA team, which puts not only energy, funded funds, but especially heart into the organization of the event in five cities. We are proud that with our communication skills, which result in dozens of unpaid appearances in the media, we can contribute to the fact that as many future scientists as possible find their way to the European Night of Science every year. The good feeling about the work done in us was also enhanced by II. place in the PROKOP 2016 competition in the category of CSR communication, philanthropy and PR for non-profit organizations.
